~Sandra Lee, Rachael Ray, Guy Feiri, & Gordon Ramsay~

So I'm getting a real website soon and I plan on getting these nicely photographed...but this is all I can do right now - cell phone shots because my digital camera died. My four finished books for this semester of thesis! (complete with end papers). Glad it's over, but I think they came out nice :)

Here's the 4th bookjacket for my thesis: Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade Desserts. There's two layers, the top layer is supposed to look like a bakery box. There's a window in the center so when they are both wrapped around the book, it looks like you're looking into a box of cupcakes. Then you "open" the box and see that someone is topping off icing on a cupcake...so, are they store-bought, or homemade? Who knows?! That's why it's "semi-homemade". And below are the end papers. Oh! there will also be a little tag, taped and hanging from the front, saying "Semi-Homemade"...to make the title correct.

This is the 3rd cookbook jacket I did for my thesis. Guy Fieri: Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The gray strip is a little belt that slips on and off of the book. When the jacket's actually wrapped around the book and has the little belt around it, it looks like he has sunglasses on the back of his head. The front is pretty basic with his goatee. I just double checked how to spell goatee and wikipedia says that's the right way....looks a little weird though. Below this piece are the end papers for it.

Here's a little pattern I made. Started as cupcake tops... I just like how they look.

A temporary business card I made to use for Art Market...since my main product will be food related!...sort of. I'm making calendars. They'll have peel-away months which will be attached to a single illustration...of food! More specifically, dessert! Also I'll be selling buttons that say "I need a cocktail" in little hand painted illustrations. If you scroll down to earlier entries you will see them.

Here's the second book of my thesis. Gordon Ramsay "Roasting in Hell's Kitchen". It's actually not a cookbook, unlike the rest, but I loved the title so I had to do it. Each color of fire is a separate cut-out layer, so as you take each layer off, you find different quotes about different aspects of his life. The book is an awesome autobiography, touching on his abusive father, an almost-career as a professional soccer player, and how he's become such a bad-ass TV chef and star. If you haven't watched his show, "Hell's Kitchen", I highly recommend it!

Here's the first book jacket for my senior thesis. Rachael Ray! Next I'll be doing Gordon Ramsay, followed by Guy Fieri, Alton Brown, and Bobby Flay. I'm putting together a collection of TV Chef cookbook jackets. Paula Deen will also be in the final mix (because she's the best), but I already did her book...which you can find in earlier entries.

This "Yum-O" book gave me quite the headache, but I'm really looking forward to finishing the last four books. Hope you like it! When you peel away the kitchen layer, you find her on the set of her talk show. When you peel away the TV set layer, you'll find Miss Ray in her bedroom sporting some cute undies and more food.

Reinvention of a Princess coloring book cover.

So this assassin, Ivanka, goes over to this guy's house, Ronaldo. He's a rich type, so he's got a butler named Albert. Naturally the butler has a deer head and is also Ivanka's accomplice in the murder of Ronaldo. At first, looking nervous as he pours them wine, Albert is glad to see Ivanka is able to go through with the job and he is free from having to fire.

These are my "style buddies" that I'll be dressing every week. The girl named Hat is a 30 Rock reference, and the other two looked like a Sven and a Penelope....I thought.

This is a little book I made. The text is autobiographical, but it's meant to have a humorous tone...
